Calgary, Alberta, September 16, 2025 — Diversecities Community Service Association is pleased to announce the appointment of Eddie Tso as its new Fundraising Chair. In this pivotal leadership role, Tso will spearhead Diversecities’ fundraising strategy, ensuring continued support for programs that empower over 3,000 Calgarians annually.
“I am honoured to take on this role and to further the mission of Diversecities by engaging our community in meaningful support. Fundraising is about more than programs, it is about creating the conditions for people to succeed, both today and for the future. As someone deeply rooted in Calgary, this work is especially meaningful to me,” said Eddie Tso, Fundraising Chair.
“My vision is to build lasting partnerships with donors, businesses, and community leaders who share our passion for social mobility for newcomers and visible minorities. These relationships are more than transactions, they are investments in opportunity, resilience, and Calgary’s future, helping us meet urgent needs while also creating long-term opportunities for growth,” Tso added.
Cindy Au, Chief Executive Officer of Diversecities, expressed her enthusiasm: “We are thrilled to welcome Eddie as our Fundraising Chair. His leadership, passion, and business acumen will be instrumental in unlocking new opportunities that benefit vulnerable populations in Calgary.”
“With Eddie at the helm of fundraising, we’re poised to elevate our capacity to serve and support Calgary’s newcomers and under-served communities,” said Norman Poon, Board Co-Chair of Diversecities.
Dr. Thomas Cheuk, Board Co-Chair of Diversecities, shared: “Appointing Eddie as Fundraising Chair reflects our commitment to strengthening Diversecities’ future. His expertise and passion will not only advance our fundraising efforts but also deepen the trust and connections we hold within the Calgary community.”
Looking ahead, Tso emphasized the importance of collaboration: “Fundraising is not just about raising dollars, it is about raising awareness, building connections, and inspiring people to invest in the well-being of their neighbours. When we work together, we can create lasting change that benefits the whole community. I look forward to working closely with the Diversecities team, board members, and our incredible volunteers to ensure we can keep delivering life-changing programs.”
