World Culture Society & Supercool Afterschool

As one of 20 agencies collaborating with The City of Calgary’s Calgary Afterschool network, Diversecities is proud to offer two prevention and intervention initiatives during the school year. 

These initiatives are Supercool Afterschool (grade 3-6 participants) and World Culture Society (grade 7-12 participants), serving 300 participants from all corners of the city per year. Designed to keep youth constructively engaged during the at-risk hours of 3 pm to 6 pm, activities and discussions are designed to empower participants to take part in public speaking, learning about organization and planning, discovering cultural identities, discussing respect, anger and stress management, the importance of goal setting and providing proper tools to participants for how to make sound decisions.
