EmbRace - Creating a Community Against Racism

In partnership with the Alberta Civil Liberties Research Centre (ACLRC), Diversecities and ACLRC have invited anyone who wants to learn the differences between racism and racial discrimination, how unconscious biases and assumptions could affect your interactions with others, and some actions you can take to help combat racism.

In the multicultural Canadian society today, people of diverse backgrounds must live and work together. Sometimes in spite of differences, people get along. And sometimes they don’t. Often the main reason that people do not get along is the “isms” between them. Racism is perhaps the most obvious and problematic “ism” and can be subtle and difficult to recognize.
